Norman R PidgeonNorman Pidgeon is an author specialising in realistic science fiction, drawing on a long career in the application of technology to transport, utility and government organisations. Now a semi-retired specialist advisor to the automated vehicle industy, he has led technology development programs in Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada. He is a former board member and President of the industry association Intelligent Transport Systems Australia (ITSA). In this role he led a drive for awareness of the potential for automated systems to support national transport networks and vehicle operation. Norman has always loved writing to exceed client expectations. He is now focusing on applying his knowledge to the writing of realistic science fiction. When the Cars Stopped Listening is his first full-length work and he recently received a prize in a short story competition run by the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria, (RACV), using material based on the book.
