Njoki WaneNjoki Wane is currently the Chair and Professor in the Social Justice Education Department at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto. Prof. Wane has a long and successful history of academic leadership and servic in her department at OISE and across the University of Toronto. She has served as Associate Chair of Social Justice Education (SJE) and headed OISE's Office of Teaching Support over a four-year term. She has also served as the University's Special Advisor on Status of Women Issues, and as Director, Center of Integrative Anti-Racism Studies (CIARS) at OISE. Prof. Wane's commitment to students, graduate education and community service is evident from her many teaching awards and honours. Among many other awards, Prof. Wane is a recipient of the President's Teaching Award. Prof. Wane has published dozens of scholarly works, her most recent being the book African Women's Voices on Indigenous Knowledge of Food Production: A Kenyan Perspective.
