Nicki ToizerMy introduction to photography began in fifth grade when I received my first camera before a trip to Mexico. This little point-and-shoot had very few features, the negatives were tiny, and my pictures weren't that great. But I was hooked! I loved recrding what I saw outside, whether at home or on family trips. My dad and grandfather encouraged me to just keep shooting. My first digital camera in 2001 was a 2.1 MP Sony that recorded onto mini CDs. Technology continues to improve and cameras with 10 times the resolution (and more!) are readily available today. While the technology has changed, the knowledge necessary to make good images remains the same. Photography is about light and vision; and giving the viewer something to experience. I started teaching others about digital photography in 2006. It's very rewarding to see my students discover what their cameras can do and the different results they get just by making a few adjustments. I've met photographers from around the country as we all strive to learn, experience different locations, and share our love of documenting the world through our images. My goal is to continue teaching, learning, and sharing photography with others. Read More Read Less
