Nick ThorneNick Thorne is a Chartered Engineer, Metallurgist and until recent retirement was the Managing Director of a primary tin smelter in Thailand. Whilst this is perhaps not the usual background for an author of romantic fiction, Nick is an avid follower f classic works of English literature, particularly those of Thomas Hardy. Retirement has now given the time and opportunity to fulfil an ambition to bring one of those classics a modern makeover, moving the story from a fictional Wessex to a fictional Derbyshire. Nick is able to draw on his experience of previously having lived and worked in both Dorset and Derbyshire to add credibility to his writing.
