Nicholas De MonchauxNicholas de Monchaux is Craigslist Distinguished Chair in New Media and Professor of Architecture, New Media and Urban Design at UC Berkeley. He is a partner in the Oakland, CA, based design practice modem. De Monchaux is the author of Spacesuit: Fasioning Apollo (MIT Press 2011), recipient of the Eugene Emme Award from the American Astronautical Society and shortlisted for the Art Book Prize, as well as Local Code: 3,659 Proposals about Data, Design, and the Nature of Cities (Princeton Architectural Press, 2016). Spacesuit: Fashioning Apollo has been under option for a feature film since 2012, most recently in 2016 by Working Title / Universal. De Monchaux's design work has been exhibited at the Biennial of the Americas, the Lisbon Architecture Triennial, the Venice Architecture Biennale, SFMOMA and the Chicago MCA.
