Niall ConlonRed Chameleons is a historical thriller/fiction novel written by John in 1993. It was abandoned because of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the cold war, which killed this book's potential impact at the time. But things have changed. Imagin, that following the US elections in November glasses are raised in Moscow because, following a military coup engineered by The White Russians and Cossacks from the Ukraine. As a result, a new Czar replaces the President and succeeds in re-establishing the old Soviet Union. At the same time, he convinces the USA that they should both disarm. Then as the elections in the USA begin the Czar succeeds in having Russia's puppet elected as President, who is a fascist white racist southerner from Texas. This situation is only achieved after a trail of deception and carnage in the UK and the USA and there is more to come. John first wrote this book in 1993. When the Russians sent their troops into Ukraine two years ago, he realised that a breath of fresh air and relevancy had bought it back to life because the Ukraine is where The White Russian's and Cossacks, who are pivotal in his book, come from. His belief in what he had predicted was given colour by an article in The Daily Express on June 24th 2015 which had the following headline: 'VLADIMIR PUTIN' WANTS' TO REINSTATE THE RUSSIAN ROYAL FAMILY AND MOVE THEM INTO AN ANCIENT PALACE ONCE OCCUPIED BY THE LAST TSAR NICHOLAS II.' More recently, allegations about Russia's email meddling in American election issues, have underlined Johns resolve to have his book published before a victor is announced. John laughs about how he actually arrived at this position, because to begin with he didn't know where the book was because it had not been printed, it had been stored on floppy discs in 1993. Since then he had moved several times and thought that he had lost the book. However, after searching high and low, he found a dusty envelope marked Danger Everywhere on his bookshelf. Inside were three floppy discs' but he had no hardware that could read them. After buying a floppy disc reader, he discovered that his book was in a format no longer used. Overcoming this obstacle, he discovered that he couldn't remember exactly what he had written. 165,000 words later he realised that he had something worth pursuing because of the subject matter but it needed some work and the removal of several thousand words. There was a major edit. The book starts at the end of the Second World War, when despite the danger of being betrayed and executed by Stalin's secret police, Devchenko, the leader of a dissident group known as The White Russians travels from Odessa in the Ukraine to Helsinki to meet other committee members based in the soviet republics. Their only purpose is to bring the Romanov royal family back into power in accordance with 'The Agenda', formulated by royalist families and their supporters at the time of the Russian revolution when Czar Nicholas and his family were slaughtered. These families that drew up 'The Agenda' swore an oath to adhere to its objects and pass it down to their sons and grandsons who swore the same oath because, it was accepted by all the families involved, that patience and determination was required and that success could only be achieved if they were ruthless in their resolve and that the passage of time did not matter. Since the current political climate between Russia and the USA has changed and since Putin has stated he wants to reinstate the Russian royal family, the relevance of the book in the year of the American election is abundantly clear. This book and its sequel now takes priority over John's other writing. Nonetheless, the final part of the trilogy has been planned Read More Read Less
