Neil M BoumpaniSince 1978, Neil Boumpani has been composing and arranging music for all types of musical ensembles, solo instruments and vocalists. Neil attended The College of New Jersey where he earned a BA in Music Education and an MA in Music Composition. Neil lso earned a Ph.D. in Music Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. During his college years, Neil studied with legendary arranger Frank Hunter, arranger for such greats as Nat King Cole, Robert Goulet and Coleman Hawkins and an inspirational teacher who loved working with young musicians, giving them the foundations of writing for musical ensembles which was based on the composer's ability to listen, write, listen and rewrite. Neil has been an educator for over 30 years with experience on all levels from elementary through high school and higher education. For more than 19 years Neil directed the Duke University Marching and Pep Bands, where he wrote every arrangement played on the field, and most of the arrangements and compositions played in the stands. Many of his pieces are still heard today at Duke University games. Neil continues to work as a free-lance arranger for schools all over the country. Over the years, Neil has written extensively for high school and college marching bands. Many of the high schools using his arrangements receive superior ratings at festivals. He takes pride in being able to take any band, regardless of size, level or instrumentation and make it sound bigger and better. Additionally, Neil has composed and produced music for film and TV. Currently, Neil is a tenured Associate Professor at Gordon College in Barnesville, GA where he oversees the instrumental music program, teaches theory and percussion, directs the concert band, the new music ensemble, and percussion ensemble, and over sees the music technology program. He composes and arranges works for all of the college ensembles. Neil completed a score for a full-length film and has created numerous backtracks for professional singers. All of the tracks on this project were arranged and produced using a Sonar Platinum sequencer and various sample libraries.
