Nancy L Crinklaw

Nancy L CrinklawNancy found herself watching her book, Winnie and Tate, unfold right before her eyes when her daughter brought home two small ducks for Mother's Day. She knew from the beginning that what was going on in her backyard had the makings of a story. As sh went about each day taking care of these unexpected animals that grew close to her family, she kept a diary of the events. Nancy loved reading books as a child and wanted to share that love with her daughter; she began reading to her the day they came home from the hospital. As her daughter grew, she remembers searching for page-turners that would interest her child, teach a few life lessons, and be enjoyed by her as well. With those elements in mind, she wrote Winnie and Tate. Nancy and her sister and illustrator, Joanne, grew up in a very small town in New York along the Saint Lawrence River, just a stone's throw from the Canadian border. She now lives in southern New Hampshire with her husband, daughter, six little ducks, and two cats. She currently works in manufacturing management, continues to find joy in writing, and is working on a second book.
