In 2020, she was one of the American Horticultural Society's "Great American Gardeners National Award Winners," being honored with the Frances Jones Poetker Award, for "significant contributions to floral design..." Nancy Ross Hugo is also the author of the book Seeing Trees. Her writing has appeared in Horticulture, Fine Gardening, American Forests, Country Journal, Virginia Living, and Country Life.
