Märt Vähi

Märt VähiMärt Vähi is Bishop Emeritus of the Estonian Pentecostal Church. Born in Sweden to parents fleeing Communist occupation of Estonia, they came to Canada as refugees. As a missionary in Europe, he smuggled Bibles behind the Iron Curtain. Ordained in 194, he pastored in Fredericton, served on national and mission boards, and became chaplain of the New Brunswick Provincial Government. In 2000, Märt and his son Andrew founded the Village of Hope for those in drug-alcohol addiction, resulting in numerous awards, including the Estonian Order of the Red Cross. Märt, fifty-three years married, has three children, eleven grandchildren, and serves and lives at the Village of Hope in Estonia and Canada. Read More Read Less
