Mário Fernando Santos FerreiraDr. Mário F. S. Ferreira earned his bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Porto, Portugal, and his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, where he is currently a professor in the Physics Department. His research intersts include multi-section semiconductor lasers for coherent systems, quantum well lasers, optical fiber amplifiers and lasers, soliton propagation, polarization, and nonlinear effects in optical fibers, and soliton propagation, polarization, and nonlinear effects in optical fibers. He is the head of the Institute of Nanostructures, Nanomodelling, and Nanofabrication's Optics and Optoelectronics Group.
