Muho NolkeMuho Nolke was born in 1968 in Berlin, he was introduced to zazen as a high school student. In 1993, after graduating from university, he was ordained as a Soto Zen monk at the monastery Antaiji. After obtaining the dharma transmission, he decded to live as a homeless monk in a park in Osaka, where he led a zazen group in 2001. In Feb. 2002, at the sudden death of his teacher, he was called back to Antai-ji. He succeeded his teacher as the ninth abbot, until his retirement in 2020.
