Mimi PetersenMichelle, who writes under the name "Mimi," earned her endearing nickname from her sister Liz, who, as a child, could not pronounce "baby" or "Michelle" and instead called her "Mimi." This name has stayed with her ever since. Michelle grew up in Wauksha, WI, alongside her mother and two siblings. Despite facing challenges with reading and comprehension during grade school, which required her to attend special classes for reading and spelling, she gradually built confidence in her abilities. Her persistence paid off, and she developed a strong foundation in literacy.Michelle has been happily married for 17 years and has one daughter, a beagle, and a guinea pig. With 18 years of experience in the healthcare industry, she has also used writing as a therapeutic outlet to cope with anxiety, depression, and stress. What began as a collection of poems eventually evolved into creative stories. Her imaginative journey started with stories inspired by her stuffed animal ducks, each with distinct names and personalities. For instance, Bubba, who has a twin named MoMo with a contrasting character, sparked the idea for children's stories. Michelle has written several "Gus and Bubba" adventure tales, including one about her dog and its quest for a new playmate.Michelle's passion for writing led her to enter the Mark Gruenwald Writing Contest through the House of Heroes comic book store in Oshkosh. Her submission, "Bubba and Gus's Wacky and Quacky Adventures," showcases her creativity and love for storytelling. Michelle hopes that readers will enjoy her whimsical tales as much as she enjoys creating them. Read More Read Less
