Mike MetzlerMike Metzler is a former professor and associate dean at Georgia State University. He retired from his full time appointment in 2017, but still works part time in the GSU Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. During his career he earned numrous professional awards and has been an invited speaker, consultant, and visiting professor in many countries around the world. He served for two years on the Science Board of the President's Council for Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition in the Obama Administration. Mike and his wife Terry were married in 2006 on the Honduran island of Roatan. They live in Decatur, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta. In 2020 Mike was accepted into the Ambassador program of the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance, offering his experiences in Cancer World to support other patients, survivors, and caregivers.
