Previously he was the Director of the Beaumont Animals Hospital, Head of Infrmation Services, and an Associate Professor in Clinical Practice at the University of Nottingham. In addition to owning his own private price for over 11 years, he has worked as a consultant for several major pet food manufacturers including Hills, Iams, and Pedigree.
