Guta completed his PhD in Philosophy at Durham University, where he subsequently worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the Durham Emergence Project (funded by the John Templeton Foundation). His main research focuses on metaphysis, philosophy of mind, and the philosophy of neuroscience, with special emphasis on the emergence of consciousness and its relation to the brain. His relevant publications include: 'Frank Jackson's Location Problem and Argument from the Self', Philosophia Christi (2011). He is currently teaching philosophy at Biola University, Azusa Pacific University, and Addis Ababa University.
