Miguel E GallardoMiguel E. Gallardo, PsyD: Associate Professor of Psychology at Pepperdine University′s Graduate School of Education and Psychology, where he teaches courses on multicultural and social justice, intimate partner violence and professional ractice issues. Dr. Gallardo is also licensed psychologist and maintains an independent/consultation practice where he conducts therapy with adolescents and adults. His areas of scholarship and research interests include understanding the psychotherapy process when working with ethnocultural communities, particularly the Latina/o community and in understanding the processes by which individuals develop cultural awareness and responsiveness. Dr. Gallardo has published referred journal articles and book chapters in the areas of Latina/o psychology, ethics and evidence-based practices. He co-edited the book, Intersections of Multiple Identities: A Casebook of Evidence-Based Practices with Diverse Populations published in 2009. Dr. Gallardo also conducts continuing education workshops and professional trainings in the areas of culturally responsive therapy with diverse communities, multicultural organizational development and Latina/o mental health throughout the state and country. Dr. Gallardo is past-president of the California Psychological Association (CPA). He is one of the founders and served as the first president of the California Latino Psychological Association and continues to serve on their board of directors.
