Michelle MarshMichelle Marsh lives at the foot of the Great Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee with her husband and two school-age children. She enjoys gardening challenges, playing golf, music, and her children's after-school activities. Marsh describes how one suh activity inspired her to write this book: The subtitle of my book is: "How to Create an Indoor Garden from Food You Buy at the Grocery Store," and my inspiration for it came from children's TV. I was watching a children's science show on TV with my kids and it was showing how to re-grow a new lettuce plant from the cut-off bottom of romaine lettuce. My son, Sean, said, "We can do that! Let's try it." I had some lettuce in the 'fridge, and so we did. It was amazing! The new lettuce seemed to sprout almost overnight. It was so easy and so fast. Plus, it didn't cost a thing. The kids' reaction was, "That's pretty cool! What else can we grow?" That's how it started. I'd see what else we had in fridge: "Can I re-grow this?" I'd search the Web for the answer and also to find out how to do it. Usually, I'd end up printing several pages of information from different websites so I'd have the information on hand when I needed it. That's what gave me the idea for this book. It was a book I needed, and since I needed it, I felt it would be helpful to others. Marsh previously published another book for gardeners: Garden Journal and Planner. Read More Read Less
