His journey has taken him to the Navajo Nation, Malawi, India, Afghanistan, Scotland, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Belize, and Guatemala. He graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technolog's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences and was the National Press Photographers Association's 2005 Photographer of the Year for New York state and Ontario and Quebec provinces.
