Michael BuraimohMichael Buraimoh was born and raised in Nigeria, in a society steeped in patriarchy and misogyny. His lived experience gives a unique insight into the perils of domestic abuse and widespread gender inequality, and the unintended consequences for the hildren involved. Buraimoh has committed himself to fighting for women's rights across Africa. By telling his mother's story, he seeks to hold up a mirror to the whole of society, to challenge the status quo and demand justice for all African women and girls who are denied their full rights.Buraimoh is a public speaker and a campaigner for human rights and development in Africa. He served as the Director of Action for Southern Africa, the successor to the British Anti-Apartheid Movement, until September 2021. He has since founded the Diaspora Initiative for Nigeria's Development (DiND), which aims to connect and build up the Nigerian and African diaspora and help advance development in Nigeria and Africa.
