Michael Bond Michael Bond is the author of all the books about Paddington Bear. His first book, A Bear Called Paddington, was published in 1958. In 1997, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire for services to children's literature. In 2007, e was made an honorary doctor of letters by Reading University.
