He and his company, Real Balance Global Wellness Services, Inc., hav trained thousands of coaches around the globe. A psychologist with over twenty-five years of clinical work and professional contribution to the field of health and wellness promotion, Michael began his formal coach training in 1996. He quickly saw the value of a coach-like behavioral change methodology for helping people succeed at lasting lifestyle improvement and began training coaches in the late 1990s. Michael was a founding board member of the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching, establishing standards and credentialing for the profession, and is now a Board Member Emeritus. He is the author of Wellness Coaching for Lasting Lifestyle Change, 2nd Ed., the foundational book of the field, published in English and Mandarin.
