Michael A CrouchMichael A. Crouch is Professor and Associate Dean for Professional Education and Academic Affairs at the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy, East Tennessee State University (ETSU). In addition to his administrative appointment, he serves as the directorof the college of pharmacy teaching and learning certificate program. Other previous leadership roles related to residency training include Residency Program Director for Internal Medicine, initially, and later Cardiology at Virginia Commonwealth University and Residency Program Coordinator at South University. Dr. Crouch attended the University of North Carolina where he received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1992. He pursued additional training at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), receiving a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1995. Postgraduate training entailed a first-year residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and a second-year residency, with emphasis in cardiology, at MUSC. Dr. Crouch is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist, who also holds added qualifications in cardiology. He is an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, which named him a fellow in 2009. He is also a dedicated member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Dr. Crouch publishes broadly in his areas of expertise, including research related to cardiovascular pharmacotherapeutics and the scholarship of teaching. He also serves on the cardiology editorial advisory board for the Annals of Pharmacotherapy and editor of the book, and related quarterly newsletter, entitled Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy: a Point-of-Care Guide.
