Her childhood weekends were split between church activities and visiting the family farm. On those tripsto the hills, she learned never to pass a pasture without mooing at the cows. She earned her bachelor's degree from Duke University with a double major in English and religion. Most of her English classes had religious themes, and most of her religion classes had literary themes. She currently works as a freelance writer, ghostwriter, and editor.
