She graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems and a master's in Instructional Technology. MeKael's family is her inspiration. Being a mother and wife was MeKael's main focus in life but to her surprise, her children would be the very reason that she is now an author. Early one morning at four o'clock, she woke up with the words to her first children's book, What Will A-Tal Play Today? MeKael's husband encouraged her not to leave the words on paper but to share those words with the world. She hopes this book encourages children all over the world to be adventurous and to enjoy the years of their youth by getting outside and discovering nature. The Fearless Princess is her second children's book. The Fearless Princess is inspired by real-life events from her daughter's life. She hopes this book encourages children and even grown-ups all over the world to be fearless, confident, and courageous. For the last five years, MeKael has been an active member of the PTO Board at her children's school. She loves being creative, learning new things, and playing basketball with her family.
