Mehnaz Sahibzada

Mehnaz SahibzadaMehnaz Sahibzada was born in Pakistan and raised in Los Angeles. She is a PEN USA Emerging Voices Fellow in Poetry and her work has appeared in numerous publications, such as Asia Writes, The Paddock Review and Pedestal Magazine. After two lightheartd chapbooks with Finishing Line Press, Tongue-Tied: A Memoir in Poems (2012) and Summer Forgets to Wear a Petticoat (2016), Mehnaz presents a deliciously dark yet powerfully optimistic blend of poetry in her first full-length collection My Gothic Romance. Think Mary Shelley meets Wes Craven or Jane Eyre meets Jason Vorhees. The book represents a literary and cinematic exploration of the beauty within the dark. Expertly blending tones and images, Mehnaz's collection is a study of primal fear and what attracts us to the morally ambiguous. To learn more visit: www.poetmehnaz.com Read More Read Less
