Maxim MatusevichMaxim Matusevich is Professor of Global History at Seton Hall University, USA where he directs the Russian and East European Studies Program. He has published extensively on the history of the Cold War in Africa and the historical connections etween Africa and the Soviet Union. He is the author of No Easy Row for a Russian Hoe: Ideology and Pragmatism in Nigerian-Soviet Relations, 1960-1991 (2003) and editor of Africa in Russia, Russia in Africa: Three Centuries of Encounters (2007). Matusevich has been the recipient of several prestigious scholarly awards and fellowships, including the Fulbright Grant, a Research Fellowship at the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research at Harvard University, an IREX Grant, two Kennan Institute Research Fellowships, an NEH Fellowship, and a Jordan Center Fellowship.
