Mathias W Rotach

Mathias W RotachMathias Rotach holds a PhD in Environmental Physics from The Swiss Federal Institute (ETHZ) with a specialization in Atmospheric Physics. He has worked on different aspects of Boundary Layer processes (such as urban turbulence, stable boundary layers numerical modeling and boundary layers over complex terrain and heterogeneous surfaces, dispersion modeling). After a number of postdocs (among others at Risø National Laboratory (DK) and the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR, Boulder, Co), he became Head of Research and Development at the Swiss National Weather Service, MeteoSwiss, before he became full professor in Dynamic Meteorology at the University of Innsbruck, A. His research group in Innsbruck is specialized in boundary layer dynamics over complex, mountainous surfaces. He has (co-)authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers on various aspects in boundary layer meteorology. Read More Read Less
