Matei ZahariaMatei Zaharia received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Waterloo in 2007 and his PhD from UC Berkeley in 2013. At Berkeley, he worked with Scott Shenker and Ion Stoica on topics in cloud computing, networking, and largescale data processig. Throughout his research, he has contributed to a variety of open source projects including Apache Hadoop, Mesos, and Spark.
