Mary RheeMary Rhee is a preacher's kid from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Some of her best childhood memories are of her dad reading The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn to her and her brothers. She has always enjoyed books for young people, and she lies to write humorous children's stories that have a gentle moral. After receiving her bachelor's degree in English from Calvin College, Mary completed her master's degree in library science from the University of Michigan. She has taught American literature at Cheng Kung National University in Taiwan. Currently she is working on several stories for children. Mary and her husband live in the historic town of Northville, Michigan. They have four grown children, two sons-in-law, four grandchildren, a dog, four granddogs, and a grandcat. Elisa Chavarri is an illustrator from Alpena, Michigan, who on most days can be found working from her studio in her home which she shares with her husband, Matt, her cat and dog, Sgt. Tibbs and Pancho, and her soon-to-arrive daughter, Lucia. She has previously illustrated A Smart Girl's Guide: Boys and Puzzle Palooza for American Girl, Fairly Fairy Tales for Simon & Schuster, and Fly Blanky Fly for Harper Collins.
