Brody and Buddy Bear's Big Adventure was her first children's book and was inspired by her oldest grandson who asked for a book abou a certain bear he loves. The Elephant Who Lost His Listening Ears is her second book and was inspired by little Brooks McGrew. Mary Kay figured that writing might help support her book addiction, which according to her husband, is too big already and needs a house of its own.
