Mary Adba DavilaAbout the author Mary and her husband, Frank, live in Western New York. In 2006, after a career of over thirty years, Mary retired from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Mary didn't start writing poetry until the age of fifty and has been wrting ever since. Her poetry, haiku, tanka, haiga and tankart have been published in numerous journals online and in print. In addition to poetry and photography, she enjoys editing and enhancing her photos in paint shop pro and photoshop. Mary and Frank make rosaries as part of their parish's rosary makers ministry. Mary is a Lector at Mass, while Frank is a Eucharistic Minister. Her faith is an integral part of her life and has helped her get through an extensive array of medical issues. God has always been there for her. The lives of the saints have also been a source of inspiration. One saint in particular, St. Therese of the Child Jesus, the Little Flower, who wrote beautiful poetry, has touched her life. St. Therese suffered immensely at the end of her life and accepted all her sufferings with love. Mary has dedicated her website to St. Therese.
