Marvin Haley ThomasMarvin Haley Thomas Jr. was born in Portland, Oregon in 1931. His parents were Marvin and Helen Thomas, both graduates of Oregon State University. In 1938 the family sold the property in Powell Butte and homesteaded in Tulelake, California. There Buz graduated from Carr Elementary School and Tulelake High School. He played football for the Tule Honkers who won back to back County championships! Buz had taken Air Force ROTC in college, keeping him out of the draft during the Korean War. After serving in the Air Force he met his wife to be, Roxie Kasparian and were married in 1957. They will celebrate their 60th Anniversary on the 14th of December in 2017. They raised daughters Karen, Kathy and Katie all happily married each with a boy-girl in that order.
