Marty ScanlonBorn in Washington, DC Marty Scanlon started her career working at the Area Redevelopment Administration started by John F. Kennedy, Jr, which provided employment opportunities in poverty-stricken area, primarily in the Appalachian Region. She later ent on to work at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission with Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jr. She spent 30 years working for the management of Tysons Corner Center and oversaw the development of the shopping center's growth into prime retail stores. Over her tenure, Tysons Corner Center stayed at the forefront of the ever-changing retail landscape through large-scale renovations and continued re-merchandising to meet the evolving consumer demands of the surrounding community. Marty was married for over 50 years and has two sons and five grandchildren (four grandsons and one granddaughter) and lives in Northern Virginia.
