He is the author of several books including: The Making of America: Opening of the Western Frontier (2001); Abbie Hoffman: American Rebel (1992); Rachel Carson: Bologist and Author (1988); The Dark Ages, Life in the United States 1945-1960 (1982); and Power for the People, A Pictorial History of the Nonviolent Movement in America (1978).
