Markus InnocentiMarkus Innocenti was born in Glasgow, Scotland and emigrated to Canada having dropped out of law school. He worked for Hudson's Bay Company in the Canadian Arctic and then as a newspaper editor in Edmonton, Alberta. Returning to the UK, he worked as croupier, pizza chef, post-punk musician, actor and circus clown. By the mid-1980s he was one of the most successful music video directors of the early MTV era. Represented by the William Morris Agency, he cowrote and directed his debut feature film, Murder Story, starring Christopher Lee, in 1989 . He relocated to Los Angeles in 1992, continuing to direct and write screenplays. His first novel, Friday Night Fish Fry - a contemporary 'hard-boiled noir' - was published in 2016 and was followed by a four-part historical mystery series, The Crimes of Il Sonnambulo.
