The Ne York native has degrees from the University of Oregon, USA, and Miami University, USA. He was awarded the American Psychoanalytic Association's 2012 Award for Excellence in Journalism for "Transformer," a chapter from Trauma Journalism: On Deadline in Harm's Way (2011).
