Mark AspeyMark Aspey was born in 1962, the third of four children and grew up in Welwyn Garden City. He enjoyed watching his mother and father perform at the local Barn Theatre where his father regularly composed music for productions. His first job was as a pper boy which helped him develop a habit for early starts. He started writing poetry at the age of 18 and went to Leeds and Leicester Universities. After a range of jobs in Youth Work and Social Care in Kent, Suffolk and Leicester he has spent the last 29 years delivering and commissioning services for people with drug and alcohol problems. He lives in Leicester and is a keen walker, runner, dog lover and still a writer of poetry. He is married to Rachael and has 3 children now all grown up.
