Growing up in East Tennessee, he was fortunate to experience love as part of a healthy family unit, but that wasn't enough to avert relationship disster. As a young man, he found himself in a toxic first marriage, culminating in a painful divorce. That experience encouraged Mark to seek an understanding of love on its deepest levels.
