Marios Politis is a Professor of Neurology, Consultant Neurologist, the Director of Mireille Gillings Neuroimaging Center, and the Director of the Neurodegeneration Imaging Group at University of Exeter. His reearch involves clinical observation and the use of PET and MR imaging as a method of investigating etiology, pathophysiology, and effects and complications of novel therapies in neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson's disease. He has served as a chief investigator in a number of observational and interventional trials. Professor Politis has received a high number of awards and distinctions such as from the Movement Disorder Society, Royal College of Physicians, Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, and European Academy of Neurology.
