Marietta OrlowskiMarietta Orlowski, Ph.D., is an associate professor at Wright State University in the Boonshoft School of Medicine and serves as the health promotion and education program advisor in the Master of Public Health Program. Her current work involves healh behavior measurement and risk reduction in children and adolescents, and she has developed both undergraduate and graduate courses in the theoretical foundations of health behaviors and program planning. In 2005 she received the Wright State University Presidential Award for Excellence in Early Career Achievement and in 2010 she was honored as Outstanding Faculty Member in the MPH program. In addition to serving as co-principal investigator on multiple federally funded projects to improve the nutrition and activity behaviors of school children, Dr. Orlowski has presented her research on tobacco prevention at the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention as well as served as an evaluator for Team Nutrition projects. Prior to joining Wright State, she worked for a regional health care system and implemented community-based risk reduction programs throughout southwest Ohio.
