Mariela G GeorgeMy life's journey resembles a rollercoaster ride, filled with twists and turns, but every moment of it fills me with immense joy and gratitude. Born on October 29, 1968, in Burgas, Bulgaria, I embarked on a path with the hope of leaving a meaningful mprint on society. After relocating to Germany, I embraced motherhood, raising my two sons, Viktor and Aleksandar, with unwavering love and dedication. I pursued higher education at Sofia University, where I specialized in Sociology. My thesis on human sexuality and cultural interdependence, ahead of its time, garnered recognition, including publication and consideration for doctoral studies. Fueled by my passion for human rights, I veered onto a different path, dedicating myself to the NGO "Gemini." Leading a human rights campaign, I advocated for changes in the Bulgarian Penal Code concerning homosexuality. In 2003, my journey led me to the United States, where I pursued and successfully completed two master's degrees: in Business Administration and Criminal Justice. Despite my service in the US Army being cut short due to medical reasons, my commitment to serving society and seeking justice remained steadfast. In 2011, I wholeheartedly devoted myself to working with troubled youth at the Juvenile Justice Center in Houston, Texas. Continuing my journey, I became a licensed police officer in Texas in 2017. As an investigator in the Domestic Violence Unit, I strived to aid those affected by domestic abuse. Returning to Bulgaria in 2021 for family reasons, I resumed my mission to combat domestic violence. Collaborating with non-profit organizations, I worked to support and assist abuse victims while advocating for legal reforms in my home country. My book, "The Faces of Unborn Butterflies," received high praise from the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture, who endorsed its translation and publication in English. This book is a product of my unyielding dedication and passion for effecting positive change, and I fervently hope it serves as a beacon of inspiration for all who encounter it. Read More Read Less
