Maria Lujan Ferreira

Maria Lujan FerreiraPhD in Chemistry María Luján Ferreira is a Principal Investigator at CONICET (NATIONAL COUNCIL OF SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL RESEARCH) of Argentina. She has published more than 150 articles in peer reviewed, international journals, and has participatedwith presentations in more than 80 argentinian scientific events and more than 120 international scientific meetings. Dr. Ferreira has also directed three Assistant Investigators at CONICET.
Her research focuses on all practical aspects of enzyme immobilization (including applied biotechnology) and the details of the experimental design of enzymatic reactions: how to prepare immobilized biocatalysts and sampling in biocatalytic reactions ( from biphasic and multiphasic reaction media) avoiding mistakes and optimizing procedures. Her interests include the molecular modeling of biocatalysts. In more than 20 years of scientific career she has studied polymerization catalysts, heterogeneous metallic catalysts and recently also nanozymes and ionzymes applied in environmental remediation (of dyes and pharmaceuticals) using advanced oxidation processes.
