The first in her family to attend college, she was educated at Syracuse University College of Nursing at the time, graduating in 1984 with a bachelor of science in nursing with honors degree. Her clinical career started at Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo in the intensive care unit. When her only son was young, she volunteered as an assistant wildlife rehabilitator, where she pursued her passion of caring for many species of injured and orphaned birds, such as songbirds, hawks, herons, ducks, geese, gulls, turkeys, and owls. This book was written when Regina was in the eighth grade and has been modified to reflect the specific plight of the monarchs. Through the persistent urging of her mother, Linda, to publish it, here it is, four decades later. Read More Read Less
