Margarete RougierMargarete Rougier was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She attended Temple University in Philadelphia on an athletic scholarship to play basketball. Her interest in sports and children led her to a double major in journalism and developmental psycology. Her first book, although never published, was written in a children's literature class while at Temple about a girl who was uncomfortable with being tall. She thought her dream job was working for ESPN on SportsCenter as she worked with the Philadelphia 76ers. As fate would have it, Margarete earned a Master's Degree in Education and became a teacher in Alexandria, Virginia leaving the world of journalism and Sportscasting behind.
