Margaret Susan BrandmanMargaret Brandman's career in music as composer, pianist, recording artist, music educator, arranger and writer on music education spans more than 45 years. She has combined her compositional interests with her interest in accelerated learning techniues for music. Margaret has composed a large range of pieces for a variety of instruments and voice which have been released on several albums produced by Parma Recordings USA on the Navona and Ansonica labels. Her concert works for orchestra, chamber ensembles, instrumental duets, choir, solo voice, and solo piano, and receive both live performances and international airplay on a regular basis. In particular her works are frequently programmed on ABC Classic FM and Fine Music (Australia). In September 2017, the Prague Mixed Chamber Choir and soloists, presented Margaret's 'Cosmic Wheel of the Zodiac', song cycle of 12 songs - one for each sign of the Zodiac, set to lyrics by Benita Rainer, in concert in the concert hall at the Czech Music Museum in Prague. The choir and soloists also recorded this work for an album on the Navona Records label, released in May 2018. The Australian premiere of the choral versions of the songs, along with new works by Margaret Brandman, were performed at a concert at the ABC centre in Sydney in August 2018 by the acclaimed choir 'Coro Austral' and several soloists performing alongside the composer on piano. Margaret Brandman is also writer and publisher of many music education materials in her contemporary series of education materials, which range from books for junior students, to text books for high school and tertiary study.
