As the daughter of a famed scholar, Woods and her sister, Mabel Birchenough, who was also a writer, received a quality education to nurture their writing career.In 1879, she married Henry George Woods, who later became the President of Trinity College in Oxford and was elected the Master of the Temple, a high honor.
