A personification of the phrase Well-behaved women seldom make history (Laural Thatcher-Ulrich), this natural born advocate has maneuvered through life, breaking the rules or the good of many. Raised in Detroit during the turmoil of the 1960's, educated in Detroit Public Schools and continuing her education with a bachelor's degree from Wayne State University followed by a law degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She fought for civil rights, women's rights and the rights of others who sometimes did not have their own voice yet. A creative whose skills created programs such as the Contractors Assistance Program that created opportunities for others in the areas of fair housing, building trades, business training, employment, and equal rights. This collection of essays shares her often dangerous, interesting, and challenging adventures. From humble beginnings as a child of moonshiners, to the board room of state government and nonprofit organizations. She has used faith, grit, and perseverance to overcome homelessness, cancer, and other life challenges such as caring for a child, parent(s) and God mother.
