Professor of theUniversidad Central de Venezuela where she founded the Women´sStudies. Translator of poetry and essays by Italian, Venezuelaand Brazilian writers, such as Antonia Palacios, Enrique BernardoNúñez, Oswald de Andrade, Antonio Candido, Giuseppe Ungaretti, Claudio Magris, among others. She has received award for her poetryand her literary research, including the Poetry Award "José AntonioRamos Sucre" (Venezuela, 1995), a Fulbright Scholarship (USA,1998), and the LASA Award (USA, 2007) for editing the volumeLa ansiedad autorial. In 2010 she was a writer-in-residence at theChateau de Lavigny International Writer´s Residence.
