Marcus ElmanMarcus Elman is a writer who lives with his wife in Venice, California. He wandered and worked overseas for a decade, comparing and learning about many cultures. He mostly has been employed as a dancer, teacher, and businessman and for many years hasworked with the elder-sage population as a yoga/fitness therapist. Marcus is curious about energy, how things work and get repaired, the idea of redemption, and our human capacity to love-in toto: human potential. His poetry has been published most recently in MacQueen's Quinterly (2024). In January 2023, Cultural Daily featured his poems "The Prosciutto Ambulance" and "The Offering." His poem "The Crossing" was shortlisted for the Into The Void 2020 Poetry Prize. And his poem "The Boulevards of Los Angeles" received an honorable mention in Beyond Baroque's 2017 annual poetry prize, was published in Cultural Weekly (September 2018), and was reprinted in the textbook Method & Mystery: A Research-Based Guide to Teaching Poetry by Tresha Faye Haefner (The Poetry Salon, 2019).
